Clydebank’s Golden Friendships Community Club has recently become an accredited Living Wage Employer.

What is the Living Wage?

The real Living Wage is the only UK wage rate based on the cost of living. It is voluntarily paid by over 15,000 UK organisations who believe their staff deserve a wage which meets everyday needs – like the weekly shop, or a surprise trip to the dentist.

Who pays the Living Wage?

Over 460,000 employees have received a pay rise as a result of the Living Wage campaign and the Living Wage is backed by cross-party support. There is a broad range of employers accredited with the Living Wage Foundation including half of the FTSE 100 and big household names including Nationwide, Google, LUSH, Everton FC and Chelsea FC, as well as thousands of SMEs. This now includes Golden Friendships.

How can you find out more?

The real Living Wage is good for people. The simple fact is, everyone needs a wage that meets their everyday needs. Earning the real Living Wage, as opposed to the government’s minimum, makes a huge difference to workers. Golden Friendships is delighted to be accredited as a Living Wage Employer. We are now one of over 15,000 organisations in the UK, demonstrating voluntarily, the right and fair thing to do.
